 Meet The QUEEN Bee

Mary Maloney

Associate ASID

It is a pleasure to meet you, and I am so glad you're here! As the owner of Bee’s Knees Interior Design Studio (sometimes referred to as “The Queen Bee”), I oversee all projects that our team works on.

My career began at Boston's State House and transitioned into owning a retail business. Honing in on my creative passions ultimately led to interior design. My background helps our team best understand our client’s needs and what it means to provide over-the-top service.

Besides working with clients, I manage our relationships with our esteemed and trusted vendors and contractors (worker bees). We are grateful to have plenty of sources and partners to recommend!

My heart is full when making special memories with family and friends while enjoying home-cooked meals in a relaxed environment. I love to travel and explore, near and far; and changing my front door color is a bit of an obsession.

 Bee’s Workroom

Just as we wrapped up work in our Church Street studio we learned about a vacancy at our favorite location in town and we jumped at the opportunity.  The Manor House is loaded with charm, inside and out; wide plank floors, fireplaces, high ceilings, tall windows, original moldings, and covered outdoor areas.  A designer's dream and all in a great location!

Despite sagging ceilings and a choppy layout, we could see all the potential this space had to offer.  We took down walls and ceilings, updated electrical and wherever possible, restored old wide plank floors.  We also worked to greatly enhance curb appeal.  We trimmed overgrown trees, replanted beds, added perennials, window boxes, and planters for year-long color and interest.

Our new space is a blend of all the things we love; the best of yesteryear, combined with fresh updates that respect the past. The Manor House is a perfect location to showcase our work, along with that of other local talents.  We feel blessed, we love our perch on Main!
