2019 Runway Trends You Can Incorporate into Your Home

POP OF COLORS

Bright poppy hues of color were seen on the runways of Versace, Marc Jacobs, Gucci and more. And we certainly see this influence in interior design. Rich pops of color are a great way to add a focal point to the room, even in the smallest amounts, like the pink Visual Comfort lights below! Check out one of our own projects, featured in Boston Globe Magazine’s Kitchen and Bath issue - we used a bright coral to add a punch to this beautiful blue kitchen! Pop colors can be used in a variety of elements throughout your home such as artwork, furniture and lighting.

FLORAL

Floral prints are forever a mainstay in spring collections and this year is no exception. The trend was seen throughout various top runway shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris. Florals could be easily be incorporated into your home from decorations, wallpaper, paintings and more. We especially love soft floral upholstery or if you want to go bolder, check out a floral wallcovering in a small powder room! Not feeling like you’re ready for the commitment? You could channel this trend by simply putting out a vase of flowers.

ANIMAL PRINTS

Animal prints were huge in the runway for the spring 2019 season, as seen in this look from the Burberry show. Although animal prints can be a bit loud and scary at times, there are ways to incorporate this major fashion trend into your home without being too over the top. You can include animal print as an eye popping statement in chairs and accent pillows. Feeling adventurous? Try it in a small powder room as a wallcovering to create a wild sense of fun! The Bees recently created an eye-popping statement in an otherwise studious library with an unexpected fabric selection for the ottoman - what a fun way to add a little bit of whimsy!
