Pantone Color of the Year Announced!!!!!!!

If you haven’t heard, Pantone released their 2020 Color of the Year! I don’t know about you, but this is always exciting for us designers to see what the prediction is for the style of the year.

The new color just completely on point. And it’s funny, the color is one of the Bee’s FAVES and go-to picks. Have you guessed what it is yet? Let us give you a hint….

If you haven’t guessed it yet:

CLASSIC BLUE IS PANTONE’S 2020 COLOR OF THE YEAR!

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen! Back to the classics! And it’s so appropriate, considering that we’re seeing more and more trends toward the “granny chic” style (ahem, Kylie here, just sayin’.) In fact, as Architectural Digest put it:

“The calming, familiar hue ushers in a fresh decade and hints at a return to traditional decorating.”

They couldn’t be more right in our opinion! AD goes even further to explain:

Pantone’s decade-launching choice might seem staid (especially in comparison to 2019’s showy Living Coral), but such a recognizable, reliable color presents a foil to the uncertainty the future holds. “When we look at the world around us, we know that we’re living with a lot of unrest, where some days we don’t feel quite as secure,” Eiseman explains. “Blue, from an emotional, psychological standpoint, has always represented a certain amount of calm and dependability. It’s a color that you can rely on.”

Not only that, but blue is ubiquitous when it comes to the classic chinoiserie style; another of the Bee’s favorites. Ginger jars abound in this classic blue shade. And what about classic fabric patterns and wallpapers? Take Schumacher’s Pyne Hollyhock - it’s the perfect hue to compliment this classic blue style!

I could go on and on, but it’s time to share this exciting news with the world!!!! (I know, I’m a geek!)

Cheers!
