Back To The Future...A Year Ago
Kylie here this week!
Mary and I laughed because my photos app reminded me of “One Year Ago Today” pictures, and jeez, the stuff that came up, oh my!
We had JUST begun quarantine, not knowing what was ahead (seriously, though, who knew?). We thought it was going to be a 2-week ordeal, maybe a month tops. Yet, here we are, a year into it.
We couldn’t believe the video that popped up. It feels like AGES ago. We thought it would be fun to look back (because you have to laugh, right?) Whether you’re a mom of littles or an empty-nester, we’ve all been through the wringer. We hope this brings a smile to your face and a reminder of how lucky we all are to be healthy; while we also remember those lost.
I asked Mary her thoughts, and she so eloquently put her take on the past year, to which I couldn't agree more!
Like the rest of the planet, I have yet to wrap my brain around all that has transpired over the course of this past year. Living through a pandemic was certainly not on my radar screen, nor was burying our beloved mum amid quarantine hell! There has been so much heartache and isolation, but boy, does that make one appreciate all the positives!
We are so blessed and grateful for all our teammates, clients, friends, and family. All of whom have helped us survive and, in many ways, flourish. The initial fear was daunting, to say the least. Would our business survive the pandemic, and more importantly, would our friends and loved ones make it thru unscathed, physically anyway?! They say, what does not kill you, makes you stronger, so cliche, but in this case, it is so true!
Laughter has been key to our survival, and yes, sometimes we are borderline hysteria or meltdowns. This time last year, our business development team at Elevated Outcomes (thanks, Julie!) asked us to put together a video of "design" tips for working at home. It helped to take our minds off of our daunting situations. It was hilarious to see and experience the humor and resiliency of Julie's clients who are all small business owners. A mighty and determined group indeed. Take a walk down "memory and nightmare lane" as we revisit those early weeks of lockdown. We hope our video will bring a giggle or two!
Longer, warmer, and brighter days are just ahead, along with the joy of hugging and gathering again!
The Bees are filled with hope, optimism, and gratitude. WE have so much to be thankful for.
There you have it. I couldn’t have put it better myself! We are so proud to be working together, the two of us, whether it’s on Zoom or together with masks on, Mary and I have made this work, and we’re in it to win it!
So stay tuned with us as we tease some 2021 projects coming up!
COME ON, SPRING!
