Home Tour: Strider's House - Outdated to WOWZA Bathroom!

Hi everyone! Kylie, reporting to you this week from a remarkable redo we completed for a client! This is part of a HUGE renovation that we’re doing. It’s still in progress, but we’re getting there! Today will be touring the transformation of the BATHROOM!

Who doesn’t want a gorgeous bathroom to enjoy every day? Wouldn’t you feel so refreshed to wake up and take a hot shower in a beautiful space!? I know I would! (This is probably why I just spent the entire weekend painting, and buying my new accessories. My husband has learned not to question my insanity. This outlet also gives me a break from my kids. No joke, it’s the little things in life that make the most impact.)

I digress.

Let’s first check out some before scenes of the bathroom.

BEFORE

(Hey, it’s me with normal clothes on!
This was before COVID turned me into a sweatpants-loving person.)

The bathroom needed some updating. But you can also see it was a TIGHT space. So we had to work within an existing footprint. Initial floor plan options were obviously limited because we also didn’t want to have to move any plumbing to save a bit on budget.

We decided to keep the colors in the green-blue range. We opted for a vinyl grasscloth, to have the best of both worlds. This offers a nice texture like grasscloth but vinyl to resist the moisture caused by taking those steamy, hot showers!

Small details are key! We made sure the counter came up on the back wall into a pretty tapered edge detail and a wall-mounted faucet. The vanity had a furniture-style base to make it look like a more elevated design than just a standard vanity. To finish it off, Mary found a unique mirror in one of her favorite places, Holliston Antiques!

There you have it, an incredible transformation within budget and the original footprint. This is just one piece of the progress that was made.
