Is It Real or Is It A Rendering? - Talking Tech with Kylie
It’s Kylie here this week….and I’ve got pretty pictures to show! But here’s the kicker - are they actual spaces or are they renderings? Get ready to take the quiz below! And then read on to find out why renderings are so important and why you should be asking your designer if they offer them!
Master Suite Perfect for Sunrises
Ok, first one, are you ready?! Is it a rendering or not?
Is that your final answer???
Yes, it is a rendering! Even down to the foliage outside - it’s all imaginary!
Ok, now that you’re feeling good about yourselves, let’s try another one!
Soft and Serene Sitting Space
See what I did there? Alliteration at it’s finest. Ok, take a look at the image below. Is it a rendering or real?
If you guessed real, you are correct! Of course, you probably already knew that because I’m sure you’ve seen it on Instagram….. (and if you’re not, hurry up and follow us!!)
Ok, this next one is a tough one!
Family Gathering In Warmth
Check out this gorgeous space…can’t you just hear the fire crackling? (I guess I’m ready for this cold weather…..!)
Yes, this one is a rendering as well! Even the reflections on the paintings are fake!
Why Use Renderings? What’s The Use?!
All jokes aside, renderings are becoming more and more powerful in the interior design world. Without renderings, many clients have a hard time envisioning a space. They have a hard time "seeing” what the designer sees. A designer may throw ten fabrics on the table that “go together”, but what does that mean to you, the client?
Let’s be real: you’re hiring us for our expertise. You may not know that there are 75 different shades of white. And you certainly can’t see the difference. That’s why you’ve done your research and found a designer that understands your taste. But that means that you probably can’t see the space like we do. I’m here to tell you, that’s ok!
Renderings help save time and money. Instead of going back and forth seven times on a fabric, we can now create a photorealistic rendering of what those fabrics will look like in your space, and suddenly the decision becomes much easier. And less revisions mean less hours we have to spend sourcing new options!
And if you’ve read any of my other “Tech” blogs, you’ll know that we use powerful 3D tools to help create your space (read more here!) Once we’ve measured your existing space, picked out furniture and fabrics, we get right to work, collaborating with our amazing and talented renderer, John, at Blue Pixel 3D who helps bring the spaces to light.
If you’re thinking about working with an interior designer and you know for sure you have no idea what the difference between warm white and cool white is, you definitely want to ask if your interior designer offers renderings. It can help make the process much easier….and dare I say it….FUN!!!
Until next time…………..
