Playing With Color And Patter

OK, here’s a tip: if you’re a little afraid of color and/or pattern, but you desperately WANT to try it - the best place to start/experiment is in a powder room! Why? Well, let’s count the ways: it’s a small space, it does not require a big financial investment; it allows you to get comfortable with color and pattern, in small doses (and we know you will come to LOVE it!) Using large patterns in a small space equals BIG impact! So what are you waiting for?

Thank you to our amazing and adventurous clients, who are clearly not afraid of color and pattern, so much fun. In fact, they challenged us to bring on big-time color and pattern, and we happily complied! The bathroom includes a shower; which presented another opportunity for color, with a custom shower curtain, details below.

We were able to source a beautiful wallpaper by Thibaut called Goa. This was our starting point for our color palette! We then moved on to sourcing some fun sconces, but couldn’t quite find just the right color. Our solution? Purchase the perfect fixtures from Hudson Valley Lighting and have them professionally painted! How cool is that?! Our friends at Art Applications in Boston always come thru! Not only that, we had them paint the mirror to match!, WOW!

The sink is also a game-changer, a Bees favorite from Kohler! We have been itching to use it in a project! Too much of a good thing can derail good intentions, we felt installing this paper floor to ceiling would be a bit much. The 3/4 height board and batten molding teams well with the light-hearted wallpaper!

The shower curtain is custom. We used a Perennial fabric that is indestructible and perfect for this application! It ties the whole space together, don’t you think?

We love sharing new projects with you! Give us your feedback. Is this color your jam? What about the pattern? We would love to hear from you. Give us a shout-out on Instagram or comment below!

Cheers!
